Muscogee County School Board: Board to consider revising policy on public comments during meetings

The Muscogee County School Board will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Muscogee County Public Education Center on Macon Road.

This is a combined work session and board meeting for the month of November.

The board will discuss establishing an investment account for funds generated from the 2009 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

The board will also discuss a revision to the policy on public participation in board meetings. The board is considering amending the maximum amount of time a citizen may use when addressing the board.

Currently, the policy states a person addressing the board during the public forum must limit their presentation to ten minutes. The proposed policy would revise the time limit to five minutes.

Agendas for tonight's meeting can be found on the school district's BoardDocs Web site. For more information, contact the board's executive assistant, Karen Jones at kpjones@mcsdga.net or 706-748-2018.
