Columbus Cardiology Associates has donated an external defibrillator to Columbus High School.

The $2,000 defibrillator was donated to the school on Wednesday. Dr. John Byers, Anna Sears, an administrator at Columbus Cardiology and Terry Shaughnessy, a clinical supervisor at Columbus Cardiology, presented the machine to Columbus High principal Judy Whitt, the assistant principal and the school nurse.

Shaughnessy also held a training class with the school nurse on how to properly use the defibrillator; the school nurse will teach the rest of the faculty.
