LaGrange College's Education Department is expanding to include a Specialist in Education degree in curriculum and instruction.
It is scheduled to begin in June.
Candidates for the program will be expected to hold a master's degree and a teacher certification.
"The specialist degree is essentially a pre-doctorate in education," said Don Livingston, former chair of the department.
