Closing arguments in the case of a woman accused in the death of a truck driver in August 2007 begin this afternoon.
Diana Branchfield, 47, faces charges of murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in the death of John Beflance.
Branchfield was arrested in connection with the death in April 2008 after Columbus police received a tip while investigating another homicide. Beflance had been found with a gunshot wound to his chest inside his 18-wheeler on North Lumpkin Road.
Mario Williams, 28, was also initially suspected in Beflance’s death, though a grand jury no-billed charges against him.
