Diana Branchfield was found guilty today of the murder of truck driver John Beflance.
Branchfield, 47, was sentenced by Muscogee County Superior Court Judge Gil McBride to life in prison plus five years on charges of felony murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, court officials said.
Beflance was found with a gunshot wound to his chest inside his 18-wheeler on North Lumpkin Road in August 2007. Branchfield was arrested in April 2008 while police were investigating another homicide.
Jurors heard two days of evidence before they began deliberations Tuesday afternoon. They deliberated all day Wednesday before returning with their verdict this morning.
