Auburn police are investigating the death of a Lee County woman.
Billie W. Foster, 30, was pulled from a pond Monday night in the area of South College Street and Shug Jordan Parkway in Auburn. Police responded to the area shortly after 11 p.m. after receiving a call that a woman had run into a field near that intersection.
She was the passenger in a vehicle being driven by her father and the two had stopped at a store to make a purchase when the incident occurred, police said in a release. Officers searched the area and located Foster who had apparently fell into a pond.
Efforts to give revive Foster were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:07 a.m. today by Assistant Lee County Coroner Gene Manning.
