This weekend, you may find something on your porch that you may not expect.
Area Boy Scouts will leave a plastic bag as part of its food drive for the First Baptist church Food Pantry for children and families in our community who need food.
Fill the bag with nonperishable foods and leave it on your front port before 9 a.m. Feb. 13. The scouts will pick up the food and take it to the food pantry.
For 24 years, Boy Scouts has conducted its “Scouting for Food” project to help fill the pantry shelves of food banks. With so many people in the local community without work, the need is especially crucial this year, and food banks are being stretched.
