Russell County voters overwhelmingly approved the renewal of a 13-mill property tax in a vote today.
With all precincts reporting, unofficial tallies show the tax renewal winning 1,783-237 -- or 88.27 to 11.73 percent.
According to vote tallies, 2,020 Russell County voters cast ballots in the tax renewal that supports schools in the county and Phenix City.
The tax is up for renewal every 30 years.
