For the 12th year in a row, Columbus-based Aflac has made Fortune magazine’s annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. The supplemental insurance company came in at No. 37.

Dan Amos, Aflac chairman and chief executive officer, said he was proud the company had been named to the list.

“It once again validates our company’s long-held belief that if you treat your employees well, they will take care of the business,” he said in a statement.

For this year’s list, hiring efforts and the ways companies were helping employees weather the recession carried much weight. Of the 100 companies on the list, 65 are currently hiring.
