The River Valley Regional Commission and the Georgia Department of Transportation will hold its first bicycle and pedestrian safety campaign.
It starts at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Columbus Public Library on Macon Road and continues at the same time on March 9, April 7, May 11 and June 7. There will be free giveaways, safety gear, literature and door prizes. The program is aimed at educating people on the importance of sharing the roads and pathways with others.
Other groups taking part in the program include MidTown Inc., Uptown Columbus, TSYS, Aflac, Columbus State University and Columbus Planning Department.
