A Columbus man facing charges including aggravated sodomy had them dismissed this week, jail records show.
Leo H. Posey, 61, was released into the custody of Talbot County authorities on Wednesday. He had been held since July 22 in the Muscogee County Jail on charges of aggravated sodomy, attempted rape, aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
All the charges were no billed by a grand jury, records state.
Police had said a woman in her 40s who knew Posey had gone to his 3150 Plateau Drive home, and when she tried to leave, Posey wouldn’t let her go. Posey then allegedly assaulted her, police said.

Posey also was being held on accusations out of Talbot County, and authorities took him from the Columbus jail on Wednesday.
