Kia Motors Georgia will hold the grand opening celebration Feb. 26 of its West Point, Ga., manufacturing facility.
The ceremony comes more than two months after the company began producing the new Sorento at its first North American plant.
Mong Koo Chung, chairman of the South Korean automobile maker, will lead a number of company and state of Georgia officials attending the event, which begins at 10:45 a.m. at the plant.
Kia currently employs more than 1,250 people at the Georgia plant. It is scheduled to double the workforce as it expands to add a second production shift.
