A Columbus man is accused of holding a knife while running from police early today, reports state.
Reports state that Rickey Walker, 49, was spotted by officers walking along 30th Avenue at Cusseta Road around 1:20 a.m. He was carrying some items, and officers tried to investigate, police said.
However, the suspect told them “I’m not going to talk to ya’ll,” and kept walking, reports state.
At some point, the suspect broke into a run and just before he was caught, he swung at an officer, police said.

An officer brought the suspect to the ground, and a knife dropped from the suspect’s right hand as he fell, reports state.
Walker was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, obstruction of a police officer and loitering.
