Wednesday, the top 24 singers on "American Idol" season nine were revealed -- but not without a little drama.
We saw 23 of those singers formally get the news from the judges. Those contestants: Michael Lynche ("Big Mike"), Didi Benami, Katelyn Epperly, Aaron Kelly, Casey James, Lee DeWyze, Todrick Hall, Janell Wheeler, Tyler Grady, Lacey Brown, Alex Lambert, Ashley Rodriguez, Joe Munoz, Crystal Bowersox, Katie Stevens, Lilly Scott, Michelle Delamor, John Park, Paige Miles, Jermaine Sellers, Siobhan Magnus, Haeley Vaughn and Andrew Garcia.
The final member of the top 24, Tim Urban, only showed up during the cheesy dance segment at the end.
The news got "Idol" blogs buzzing with speculation. Originally, spoiler blogs had Chris Golightly (aka: "Orphan") filling the top 24. Golightly was featured in a group shot of the top 24 during Wednesday's show, but wasn't included in the dance sequence.

Presumably, Urban took Golightly's spot. Some fan sites guessed Golightly was disqualified or quit.
Shortly after Wednesday's show, fan site American Idol 360 posted a tweet from Hollywood contestant Samantha Musa:
"Just got off the phone with Chris GoLightly. He was disqualified yesterday, after already being told he was in the top 24, over some bogus old contract. The contract expired, but they disqualified him for not telling them. He is talking to lawyers, but doubt they can do anything.
He is upset cause he says it was a misunderstanding, yet they let Michael Lynch stay in the top 24 even though he broke contract when his family spilled the news about idol to the papers. So really, its pretty messed up that they pick and choose which "Breach" to ignore and which to use as grounds for disqualification!"
Stay tuned for updates.
