Yurmon Barnes hit a 15-footer at the buzzer to give Central a 67-65 overtime win over Opelika in the Class 6A Central Regional final.
Jacoby Payne hit a layup with 25.9 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 58 and force overtime.
Central put the ball in the deep freeze in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter. Antonio King, who was usually taken out when the Red Devils were on defense, dribbled off huge chunks of the clock until Opelika fouled him.
An old-fashioned three-point play by Antonio King allowed Central to keep its lead in the third quarter.

After Opelika closed to within one, 39-38, King drove down the lane, hit the runner and was fouled. He hit the free throw for a four-point lead. Jerrell Edmonds added a basket as Central took a 44-38 lead at the end of the quarter.
It was a big second quarter for Central as it took a 33-27 lead over Opelika in the Class 6A Central regional final at Alabama State.
The Red Devils went on a 13-2 run to take a 32-24 lead. Darren Daniel's steal and layup capped the run with 1:09 left in the first half.
