Rheta Grimsley Johnson, a novelist and nationally syndicated columnist, will receive the 2010 Clarence Cason Award in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences.
It will be presented March 9 at a dinner in her honor at the Hotel Capstone in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Johnson, who attended Auburn University, has won the National Headliners Award and the Ernie Pyle Award.
She is a native of Colquitt, Ga.
