Aflac duck, executives to ring NYSE closing bell
The Aflac duck will join company executives Thursday when they ring the New York Stock Exchange closing bell that afternoon.
In honor of the feathered mascot’s 10th birthday, a live duck in a birthday hat is expected to appear at the podium alongside Paul Amos II, Aflac president and Aflac U.S. chief operating officer, and other executives. Also, instead of The Closing Bell, traders will hear a “quack.”
Since 1974, Aflac has been listed on the NYSE under the symbol AFL. Last year, the Columbus-based supplemental insurance company met its earnings objective for the 20th year in a row and increased the cash dividend for the 27th consecutive year.
