Google Doodle celebrates Hans Christian Andersen
It's Hans Christian Andersen's 205th birthday and to celebrate, Google Doodle has set up a homage on its homepage.
The search giant has set up a slide show of sorts which when clicked in sequence tell the story of Thumbelina, one of the Danish author's most beloved fairytales.
Born in Odense in 1805, Andersen garnered celebrity status only after he began publishing a series of fairytales after 1835 beginning with "The Princess and the Pea" and "The Tinderbox." Later, he wrote "Thumbelina" and in 1837 followed that up with "The Emperor's New Clothes" and "The Little Mermaid."
