Columbus Botanical Gardens spring kickoff Saturday

The Columbus Botanical Garden will have a spring kickoff with several activities Saturday.

Those activities include the annual plant sale, a cut flower gardening workshop, a flower show hosted by Columbus Flower Workshop and a plant clinic with instruction provided by the Muscogee County Extension Service Master Gardeners.

The plant sale will be 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. There will be a wide variety of unusual and hard to find plant material including perennials, grasses, shrubs and a huge variety of herbs.

Proceeds from the sale support Botanical Garden programs.

There is no admission fee to the flower show and plant sale.

A seminar "A Garden for Cutting: Arrange From Your Garden Year-Round' will be 10 a.m. - noon. It will feature demonstrations of simple arrangements you can make at home. There will be door prizes. The cost is $25. It's $20 for Botanical Garden members.

The Columbus Botanical Garden is located at 3603 Weems Road.
