Two candidates tossed their hats into the ring for the state Senate District 29 seat on the last day of qualification.
Attorney Josh McKoon was the lone candidate for the seat until today, when Evelyn Thompson Anderson, 66, and Joseph "Joe" Hurst, 50, qualified as Democrats. The winner of the primary will face McKoon, a Republican, in November.
State Sen. Seth Harp, who currently holds the seat, is running for state insurance commissioner.
The other six members of the Columbus delegation to the General Assembly have no opposition.
The deadline for qualification was noon today.
