A 23-year-old man was shot in the wrist and robbed after two gunmen entered a Columbus home early today.
Around 2 a.m., the man was sleeping on the couch at a family friend’s house on Bunker Hill Road.
“(He) woke up with somebody over him,” said Columbus Police Lt. Lynn Joiner. “There was a struggle and he was shot.”
Joiner said the homeowner’s 16-year-old son then came into the room during the struggle. The two were robbed of undisclosed items at gunpoint.
The homeowner was asleep in her bedroom. Officers said the 34-year-old woman was not injured.
The victims told police the gunmen fled on foot.
An ambulance brought the injured man to The Medical Center, where he was treated.
