"Gossip Girl" wrapped up its season with an hour-long finale Tuesday night. The show ended with two dramatic twists: Chuck Bass getting shot, and Georgina Sparks informing Dan Humphrey she's pregnant with his child.
Here's a full recap of the show:
The "Gossip Girl" season finale 2010 kicks off with Dan and Serena's "accidental" sleepover. They claim it means nothing, but that case gets harder to prove when little Jenny Humphrey snaps a photo of them together and sends it as a Gossip Girl text blast.
Among the angry parties: Blair Waldorf, who uses the situation to have a much needed confrontation with Jenny. "Someone has to give you the smackdown you so richly deserve," she says. Blair adds, "You're hurting people I love. You're hurting people you love."
But Blair has problems of her own. Just as she decides to meet Chuck at the top of the Empire State Building per his request, pregnant maid Dorota's water breaks. And the plot twist begins.
After commercials, Rufus drops a bomb to Jenny. She's outta here! Well, at least temporarily. She has to leave the city to finish high school, Rufus says.
Back at the hospital, the entire gang has arrived to watch Dorota give birth. Awkward. Blair hangs out a bit, but then realizes it's time to meet Chuck. Unfortunately, she's late and he's gone.
Meanwhile, Serena and Dan stumble around some awkward romantic feelings. Nate learns the pair kissed during their sleepover, which prompts him to send the Gossip Girl photo to Dan's girlfriend, Vanessa.
Then, at about 9:30 p.m., the dreaded hookup happens. Yes, that's Jenny and Chuck. Chenny? Jhuck? Yeah, it looked just as bad on camera. Jenny comes over to Chuck's place looking for Nate, and the rest is just one giant heap of loneliness.
Jenny lingers around post-hookup. While she's in the bedroom, Blair predictably shows up and professes her love for Chuck. The Empire State Building situation was all just a misunderstanding, she says. Chuck is overjoyed and conveniently forgets to mention he has another woman in his place.
While Blair hangs in another room, Chuck checks the bedroom. Jenny is gone.
A commercial break ends and we return to Jenny crying in the hospital chapel. "Everybody hates me," she tells Serena's brother, confessing her hookup. Serena's brother tells Dan he needs to talk to Jenny.
Oh yeah, Georgina has returned and she's wandering around the hospital. I hate to see where this is going.
Back to Nate and Serena. Time for Serena to break up with Nate. "It's not breaking up, it's just taking a break," she says. Speaking from personal experience, that line is not reassuring.
Aww. Chuck and Blair are on the Empire State Building getting romantic. This should turn out well. Just as Chuck presents Blair with an engagement ring, Dan jumps in and punches him. Looks like somebody got mad after a heart-to-heart with Little J. Needless to say, Blair is not happy with Chuck OR Jenny.
"Go, and never come back," Blair tells Jenny.
Looks like Jenny took Blair's advice. The show wraps up with Jenny saying goodbye to her family. She's going to live with Mom. Read: pursue her real-life music career.
But she's not the only one traveling. Looks like Serena and Blair are headed to Paris. Aww, Dan and Nate have an apology session via phone. Dan is a little too happy to hear Nate and Serena are over. He's also a little dejected to learn Serena's on her way to Paris.
Dejected enough to research flights to Paris. That is, until Georgina arrives and tells Dan she's pregnant with his kid. Ouch.
And as if that's not enough, the show ends with Chuck Bass stumbling through an alley and getting mugged, then shot.
Show over. How's that for a finale?
