*He recently got an endorsement from blogger Perez Hilton. Hilton has teamed with "Idol" creator Simon Fuller and tour director Jamie King in a search to find the next great boy band.

*Garland grew up in Lubbock, Texas.

*At 14, he won a nationwide acting competition and then relocated to Los Angeles.

*Garland was a member of boy band NLT, known for songs like "She Said, I Said." NLT also included Kevin McHale, the wheelchair kid from "Glee."

*He's reportedly managed by Joe Simpson, Jessica and Ashlee's dad.
