ATM manufacturing company NCR Corp. is looking to hire about 100 assembly workers, the Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday.
The department’s career center, located at 700 Veterans Parkway in Columbus, will help the firm fill the positions. NCR is looking for production assemblers and material handlers.
The announcement comes about three weeks after NCR officials confirmed they were preparing to expand their assembly operation in Columbus and establish a new call center.
NCR plans to build two new production lines. One will be for NCR’s self-serve checkout terminals, which allow customers in grocery stores, for example, to check out by themselves. The other will be for assembly of Blockbuster Express DVD rental kiosks.
To apply for an NCR job, job hunters should stop by the Georgia Department of Labor between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with copies of their resume. They should also be prepared for screenings, including drug screening tests and background checks.
Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months of manufacturing experience. They must also be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
NCR applicants who attended a QuickStart program are eligible to reapply after six months.
