So You Think You Can Dance 2010 results: Injured Ashley Galvan kicked off SYTYCD July 15

Injured Ashley Galvan was eliminated from "So You Think You Can Dance" Thursday night. Six dancers remain in the competition.

This marks the second consecutive week an injured dancer has been eliminated from "SYTYCD." Alex Wong was eliminated last week due to a lacerated Achilles tendon.

Billy Bell and Jose Ruiz joined Ashley in Thursday's bottom three.

During Wednesday's performance show, we learned severe rib pains prevented Ashley from dancing this week. She automatically entered the bottom three.

While announcing the results, judge Nigel Lythgoe said Ashley needs three to five weeks of rest so she can go on the "SYTYCD" tour.

Here's a full recap of Thursday's show:

***

The show opens with a group Broadway routine choreographed by Tyce Diorio. Music is "Charleston" from Jerome Robbins' Broadway.

National Dance Day is "really starting to take shape," host Cat Deeley says. Apparently everybody in the entire nation is learning the choreography for the July 31 event. Even women who are seven months pregnant. The Dizzy Feet Foundation is organizing a flash mob for National Dance Day.

Wow, there's even a National Dance Day event in Atlanta. Get details here.

Results time. Remember, Ashley Galvan is automatically in the bottom three since she couldn't dance on Wednesday.

Lauren Froderman and Kent Boyd are safe.

Break for a guest performance. We see two kids from Mary Murphy's dance academy. They dance to "Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis. Sigh. Where's Mary? I miss her.

Aww. Cat arm wrestles with the little boy. Cute.

Back to results.

Billy Bell is in the bottom three. Adechike Torbert is safe.

Robert Roldan is safe. Jose Ruiz is in the bottom three.

Shankman asks Jose how he feels about advancing this far. "It's an honor," Jose says.

So this week's bottom three is Billy Bell, Jose Ruiz and injured Ashley Galvan.

Cue another guest performance. Alvin Ailey dancers perform to "Gravity's Angel" by Laurie Anderson.

Then, all-stars Twitch Boss and Comfort Fedoke repeat their "Forever" dance from season four. Ah, Comfort. I still think you're a little overrated.

Billy Bell solo: He dances to Ben E. King's "Stand by Me." There are certainly good parts, but this dance is a little weaker than Billy's previous solos. Has he given up?

Jose Ruiz solo: He does his standard b-boy moves to "Chicken-Bone Circuit" by RJD2. Sure, when he's dancing in his style, Jose is great. My boyfriend summarizes it well: "If all he had to do was break-dancing, then he'd rock the mike."

Injured Ashley Galvan doesn't perform a solo.

Time for a special musical guest. It's Christina Perri, who sings "Jar of Hearts." That song was featured on a recent episode of "SYTYCD" and Perri basically became a celebrity overnight.

Final results. Ashley is on stage with Jose and Billy. Nigel was impressed by Jose's solo. He says Billy's dance looked like a default solo.

Nigel says he's spoken to Ashley's doctors and she needs between three and five weeks of rest. He says she has to rest up so she can go on the tour, which apparently will feature dancers from season six and season seven as well as all-stars.

Ashley Galvan is eliminated from "SYTYCD."

"It just hurts that I have to leave like this, but I'm going to get better," Ashley says.
