The Women Infants and Children's (WIC) Program at the Health Department will hold its annual Farmer's Market Nutrition Program today.
Open only to active Columbus and Fort Benning WIC participants, the market kicks off at 8:00 am and will continue throughout the day on a first come, first serve basis.
The program will provide coupons to WIC participants, women and children over 6 months, to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables directly from authorized farmers markets in their community. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available for purchase with WIC coupons in the back parking lot of the Columbus Health Department, Health and Human Services Building, 2100 Comer Ave.
WIC participants must bring their WIC card and a picture Identification to receive Farmer's Market Coupons for free produce.
