Columbus man shot multiple times outside Richardson’s Lounge in Phenix City

A 26-year-old shot multiple times outside of a Phenix City club is expected to fully recover, police said.

The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. Saturday outside of Richardson’s Lounge, 104 Seale Road. Two men attending a birthday party at the club stepped outside to leave, said Lt. George Staudinger.

“As they walked outside into the parking lot, they were approached by an unknown black male who shouted something at them,” the lieutenant added. “He then shot them.”

Only one of them, a 26-year-old Columbus man, was struck. He had gunshot wounds in the leg, arm and abdomen. He was taken to The Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. He’s expected to make a full recovery, Staudinger said.

Witness said that the suspect ran from the area, he added.

The suspect is 5-foot-7 and young, Staudinger said.

Anyone with information should contact Phenix City police dispatch at 334-298-0611 or Staudinger at 334-448-2837.
