Friends of Libraries has book sale this weekend

The Friends of Libraries is having a book sale 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Columbus Public Library, 3000 Macon Road.

Organizers expect 1,000 readers will shop over the two days.

About 5,000 books will be on sale – most for $1 or less. “We’ll have everything on sale,” Friends member George Nixon, one of the co-coordinators, said in a statement. “From romance and mystery, books for children and young adults, plus history and biography.”

“This is the 12th book sale conducted by the Friends since 1998,” said Alice Budge, president. “Money raised helps to support a wide range of Library programs and to purchase materials.”
