Columbus crime: Man robbed at BTW apartments

A Columbus man was robbed at Booker T. Washington apartments early Thursday morning, according to a Columbus police report.

The man told police he was visiting a friend at the apartments when he was robbed. Another man came up to him in the front yard, fire a pistol in the air and told the man to lie down on the ground, police said.

The report stated the suspect told the man not to move or he would kill him. The suspect alledgedly took the man’s black leather wallet, containing $18 in cash.

He then fired the pistol into the air again and told the man he was going to let him drive his truck off, but if he moved, he would kill him, police said.

The suspect was described as a man, between 18 and 22 years old, standing between five-feet-six-inches and fix-feet-eight-inches tall.

The case remains under investigation.
