Columbus crime: Shooting at 15th Avenue and 26th Street

A man was struck twice by gunfire while in a car at the intersection of 15th Avenue and 26th Street early Sunday, police said.

The 24-year-old was in the passenger seat of a car around 3:40 a.m. when a black Chevrolet Avalanche pulled up and several men jumped out, said Sgt. Matt Blackstock.

“Shots rang out from the people in the vehicle,” he added. “He was hit in the abdomen and the right bicep.”

The man was taken to The Medical Center, where he was in intensive care, Blackstock said.
