Columbus crime: Man assaulted when he confronts men about car battery theft

A man was assaulted early Monday when he confronted two suspects trying to take his car battery, police said.

The 33-year-old man saw the two suspects outside his Crystal Valley Estates home on Crystal Drive between 4-6 a.m. When he approached them, one of them hit him in the leg with an unknown object. The other then hit him in the back with a knife, reports state.

The man, who had a 5-inch cut to his right shoulder blade, was listed in good condition by police.
