Three people were injured Saturday in a three-vehicle accident in Auburn, Ala., police said.
The accident involving a car and two motorcycles occurred around 2:30 p.m. EDT on Interstate 85, said Auburn Police Capt. Tom Stofer.
The female driver of the car, a four-door Cadillac sedan, as well as one of the male motorcyclists were transported by ambulance to the East Alabama Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The other male rider was flown by helicopter to The Medical Center in Columbus for life-threatening injuries.
Stofer said police had not yet collected the victims’ information — including names and ages — Saturday evening.
The three vehicles were travelling north on the highway when the car somehow collided with one or both of the motorcycles, Stofer said. Northbound lanes were closed for more than 1 1/2 hours and traffic was rerouted as the Auburn Police Department conducted their investigation.
