Columbus crime: Miguel Pierce Caban, 19, accused of firing shots into ground on Sharp Avenue

A Columbus man faces accusations that he fired a gun several times into the ground near his house Saturday afternoon, reports state.

Miguel Pierce Caban, 19, is charged with three counts of reckless conduct. Witnesses, including children aged 8- and 9-years-old, told officers they saw the suspect fire around five shots into the ground around 3 p.m., police said.

The suspect stood in the street wearing black shorts and no shirt as he fired the gun, reports state.

Officers found four Luger 9 mm shell casings in the area, police said.
