Columbus courts: Lieutenant colonel pleads guilty to enticing a child for indecent purposes

A lieutenant colonel initially accused of child molestation pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, attorneys said.

Anthony Berry, 44, faced decades in prison on his original charges. However, counts of child molestation and solicitation of sodomy were dropped when Berry pleaded guilty before Muscogee County Superior Court Chief Judge John Allen, said Assistant District Attorney Brad Bickerstaff.

Allen sentenced Berry to two years in prison, followed by 10 on probation, the prosecutor added.
