State superintendent Brad Bryant looking for student advisors

State School Superintendent Brad Bryant is accepting applications for his 2010-2011 Student Advisory Council.

The council meets three times during the school year with the state superintendent to discuss how state-level decisions affect Georgia students. Members act as liaisons between the Department of Education and students.

Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to apply. The meeting dates are October 25, January 24, 2011 and March 7, 2011. Applicants should be able to attend all three meetings.

The deadline to apply is September 17.
