Former assistant district attorney arrested on child pornography charge

Steven John Giardini, a former assistant district attorney in Mobile, Ala., has been arrested and charged with one act of acting with the intent to entice a child under the age of 16 for intercourse, sodomy or other sexual purposes and one count of acting with the intent to criminally solicit the production of child pornography.

The charges were announced by Alabama Attorney General Troy King.

The arrest was made by agents of King's office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Giardini specialized in the prosecution of sex crimes against children for District Attorney John Tyson.
