2 indicted on obstruction charges; 1 of them accused of grabbing officer’s Taser

Accusations that a man grabbed a Columbus police officer’s Taser and threatened her with it led to indictments against two people on Tuesday.

Jamilla Laykeasha Brown, also known as Jamilla Mitchell, and Markeith Darren Mitchell, both 22, are accused of obstructing Cpl. Wendy Holland on July 22, 2009, court records state.

Brown allegedly threatened the officer, chased her and grabbed her. Mitchell is accused of taking Holland’s Taser and trying to use it on her. At some point, he ran from the officer, records state.

Brown is also accused of driving on Bradley Park Drive with a suspended or revoked license, records show.

Brown faces indictments on charges of driving while license suspended or revoked and obstruction of an officer while Mitchell was indicted on two counts of obstruction of an officer, records state.
