America's Got Talent 2010 winner: Michael Grimm beats Jackie Evancho in surprise win
Singer Michael Grimm beat 10-year-old opera star Jackie Evancho in a surprise "America's Got Talent" win Wednesday night.
Many people thought Evancho, an Internet sensation, was unbeatable.
Grimm sang "When a Man Loves a Woman" on Tuesday's performance show and earned rave reviews from the judges. He gets $1 million and a Las Vegas show.
He's said he wants to use the money to help his grandparents, whose home was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina.
Black-light illusion dance performers Fighting Gravity got third place.
Prince Poppycock got fourth place. Judge Piers Morgan, who gave Poppycock an "X" on Tuesday's performance show, said he didn't regret the negative critique. However, he acknowledged Poppycock's star potential. "You are a star and you will be a star," Piers told the flamboyant opera singer.
