Columbus crime: Suspect, armed with taser gun, robs Newnan man

A Newnan, Ga. man was robbed in his car by a man with a taser early Friday morning, according to a Columbus police report.

The 24-year-old was in his 1997 silver Lexus at the intersection of Forest Road and Floyd Road at around 2:40 a.m. when he was approached by another man.

The suspect stuck a taser through the front passenger window, tased the man and forced him to give up his belongings. The man sustained a slight burn on his upper right shoulder.

The suspect was described as a black man in his late teens or early 20s, standing about five feet, nine inches and weighing about 170 lbs. He was wearing a white T-shirt.

The case remains under investigation.
