If you want to take part in the 2010 Tri-City Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 13, the deadline to apply for a float, convertible car, antique car or band, drill team or JROTC squad is 5 p.m. Nov. 5.
The parade starts at 1 p.m. on the corner of Dillingham and Broad streets in Phenix City. It will go north on Broad Street and turn right on 13th Street and go over the 13th Street Bridge into Columbus. After crossin the bridge, the route goes down Broadway and ends at Ninth Street and Broadway.
Military vehicles are welcome, said Holli Brower of the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department.
Rules are simple:
Candy may not be thrown from the vehicles.
Media vans can only pull floats and the only music they can play is patriotic songs.
Convertibles are only for beauty queens and government officials. Three riders are allowed.
The parade is a collaboration between the Columbus Parks and Recreation and Phenix City Parks and Recreation departments.
