Fundraiser for autism advocacy organization set for Oct. 3

The AmaXIng Challenge: Step It Up Alabama will be held on three Alabama university campuses this weekend to raise funds for Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism advocacy and research organization.

The Alpha Xi Delta chapters at Auburn University, University of Alabama, Birmingham, and Jacksonville State University will host events on their campuses. All three events will include a resource fair with information about autism services for families, entertainment and activities for children.

Locally the event will be held on the Ogletree Village Lawn in Auburn at 12:30 p.m. The registration fee is $10 and includes a free T-shirt to the first 700 people who register. Participants are also encouraged to raise additional funds online.

Organizers are also currently seeking sponsors and agencies to join the resource fair.
