Columbus fire: Father charged with reckless conduct in connection with Elizabeth Canty fire

A Columbus father was arrested in connection with a Thursday night fire at Elizabeth Canty Apartments that sent his three children to the hospital.

Curtis McGhee, 22, was charged with three counts of reckless conduct after he allegedly started supper on the stove and then left, starting a fire, according to police and fire officials.

Another crew followed the first and helped carry three unconscious children, ages two, three and five, from the area. According to police reports, all three children were transported to the hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
