Veteran gets Neighborworks cottage

Retired Staff Sgt. Joseph Hubanks of Columbus was given the keys to a new house this morning.

Hubanks, who served in both in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, was given the two bedroom house on Rochester Avenue as part of the Neighborworks Columbus Cottage program.

His house, which originally stood on the spot, was demolished and replaced with this new home. The cottage will return to the Columbus Cottage Program for another person in need when he is gone.

Columbus Mayor Jim Wetherington was on hand for the ceremony and called it "a great event."
