Leaders at United Way meeting Thursday report 31 percent of goal reached

Leaders at the first United Way meeting after last month's campaign kickoff reported that 31.1 percent of the goal has been reached. About 25 people attended.

The total goal is $6.5 million.

The Thursday morning meeting was at the Lumpkin Center on the Columbus State University main campus.

This year's campaign chair, CSU President Tim Mescon, was unable to attend due to a special-called meeting of the Board of Regents.

At this point last year, 34 percent of the goal was reached.
