Columbus crime: Woman robbed of liquor, $5 in change in apartment parking lot

A Cross Creek Apartments resident was robbed at gunpoint of liquor and $5 in change while in the parking lot of her home, Columbus police said.

The 38-year-old had stepped outside to her car around 11:15 p.m. Friday to get a $20 bottle of Hennessy. She opened the door to her vehicle, turned around and saw the suspect pointing a gun at her, reports state.

The suspect asked her where her money was, though she told him she didn’t have any cash. He then ordered her to get on her knees, police said.

She complied, and the suspect started searching her car. He grabbed the liquor and ran toward an apartment complex with another man. Later, she discovered the suspect also had taken $5 in change, reports state.

The woman was uninjured, police report.

The suspect is a black man, 16- to 18-years-old and about 6-foot tall, police said.
