Unknown men attack 2 teens after Tuskegee Morehouse football game

A group of men attacked two teens in the parking lot of the Columbus Civic Center after Saturday’s Tuskegee Morehouse game, sending one of them to the hospital, police said.

The 18- and 17-year-olds were walking toward the Civic Center’s main parking lot after the football game around 9:15 p.m. when the older teen noticed eight to 10 unknown men following them. One of the suspects struck the younger teen from behind and the other suspects joined in, reports state.

The 18-year-old tried to help his friend by hitting the suspects, and the 17-year-old escaped from the group and ran. Four of the men started chasing him while the remainder of the group chased the other teen, police report.

The suspects assaulted both men, causing swelling to the younger teen’s eyes and cheek. An ambulance took him to The Medical Center. He had difficulty staying conscious while speaking to an officer about the incident, police said.

The older teen had a scrape on the right side of his face, reports state.
