Columbus crime: 3 accused of armed robbery at Johnston Mill Lofts

Three people remain in jail pending their Columbus Recorder’s Court hearing after a Monday night armed robbery at Johnston Mill Lofts.

Columbus police responded to the apartments at 3201 First Ave. around 10 p.m. When they arrived, they learned that a 32-year-old man had been robbed of $950 in the complex’s parking lot, reports state.

According to police, the suspects had pointed a Ruger SR9 pistol at his head when they robbed him. No one was hurt.

While at the lofts, officers found the three suspects: Ashley Laurel Perron, 19, and Brandon Maxwell Moon, 22, both of Columbus; and Jeffery Blaine Massey, 21, of Phenix City. All face charges of armed robbery.

The suspects’ Recorder’s Court hearing is scheduled for 8 a.m. Wednesday.
