Man robbed in Peachtree Mall parking lot

A Talbotton, Ga., man was robbed Friday afternoon in the parking lot of Peachtree Mall, Columbus police said.

The 50-year-old man had stepped outside of the mall at 3131 Manchester Expressway close to 5 p.m. and was walking to his car when a gray Mercury Grand Marquis pulled up beside him, said Sgt. Harvey Hatcher.

“He was approached by two individuals who drove up beside him and told him to give them his money,” Hatcher added.

One of the suspects pointed a gun in the man’s face and struck him in the head with his fist, the sergeant said.

The suspect driving the Mercury is a black man, 6-feet and in his 20s. He wore a black jacket with the words “Atlanta Falcons” on it in red letters. He also had on black warm-up pants and was clean shaven, reports state.

The other suspect is also a black man in his 20s and 5-foot-9. He wore his hair in dreadlocks, had blue jeans and a red shirt and was clean shaven, police said.
