Vanderbilt poet honored by Fellowship of Southern Writers

Kate Daniels, an associate professor of English at Vanderbilt University, has been named winner of the Hanes Award for Poetry by the Fellowship of Southern Writers.

She will receive the award in April 2011 at the Fellowship's Conference on Southern Literature in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Daniels is the author of three poetry collections and a fourth, "A Walk in Victoria's Secret," will be published soon.

The award honors outstanding literary achievement.
