Columbus crime: Teen arrested in Circle K robbery

A Columbus teen was arrested for armed robbery Wednesday evening.

Skyler Brown, 17, was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and theft by receiving stolen property in connection with an incident that occurred at the Circle K on 12th Avenue at around 8:30 p.m.

According to a police report, a white man dressed in black entered the store and threatened the clerk with a pistol. After taking an unknown amount of currency, he fled the scene.

Police saw the suspect in the area of 14th Avenue and 19th Street and took him into custody. At the time of his arrest, the suspect had money from the store in his possession and a 9 mm Ruger pistol. Investigators discovered that the pistol was stolen during a burglary at Ed's Muffler Shop on Hamilton Road in September.

No court date has been set for Brown.
